Rare Sikh items on display in London make the news in India

One of India's leading broadsheets covered the exhibition including a revealing interview with UKPHA Chair, Amandeep Madra OBE.

One of the major highlights of the exhibition is the original armlet that was worn by Maharaja Ranjit Singh and his son Maharaja Sher Singh, now fitted with the replica of the fabled Koh-i-noor diamond.

For the exhibition, the armlet has been borrowed from the Queen as it is now a part of the Royal Collection. Maharaja Ranjit Singh had made the armlet especially for the Kohinoor and it was handed over to Queen Victoria in 1850. The Kohinoor was taken out and the armlet fitted with a rock crystal replica is now a part of the Royal Collection. It is made of gold, rubies, glass, pearls and silk,' said Amandeep.
